As we launch into this exciting new market, we’re looking for experienced and passionate Full-Time Kitchen Supervisors to join our team at YOMG Galleria.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role from the beginning, establish exceptional front of house operations and help build YOMG’s presence in Western Australia.
About the role
As Kitchen Supervisor, you’ll lead kitchen shifts and support the daily performance of the venue’s back-of-house operations.
Working closely with the Kitchen Manager, you’ll lead and support the kitchen team, uphold YOMG’s food quality and operational standards, and ensure every shift runs safely, efficiently and successfully.
Key responsibilities
- Lead kitchen shifts and coordinate team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain YOMG’s food quality, presentation, portioning and cooking standards.
- Supervise, coach and support kitchen team members throughout each shift.
- Allocate duties, coordinate breaks and adjust shift priorities when required.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Monitor kitchen workflow, ticket times, productivity and team performance.
- Ensure food is prepared, cooked and served according to YOMG’s recipes and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and workplace safety.
- Complete temperature checks, food-safety records and other required shift documentation.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate preparation or ordering requirements to management.
- Follow FIFO stock-rotation procedures and ensure products are stored, labelled and handled correctly.
- Minimise product waste and maintain effective portion control.
- Complete kitchen opening, closing and cleaning procedures.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is operated safely and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Support stocktakes, deliveries and inventory checks when required.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house and management teams.
- Assist with implementing promotions, new products, recipes and operational procedures.
- Escalate staffing, food quality, safety or operational concerns when required.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous operational improvement.
About you
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Availability to work 38 hours per week across a five-day roster.
- Flexibility to work a combination of days, nights and weekends.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a kitchen team.
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen or quick-service restaurant environment.
- A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation and service procedures.
- A hands-on, self-motivated and solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to remain organised and calm during busy service periods.
- Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- A trustworthy and dependable approach, supported by excellent references.
- A willingness to learn, develop and uphold YOMG’s standards.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, quality food and customer service.
